Creator of Composite Diamond Coating®
Surface Technology, Inc. is the creator and technical leader of CDC - Composite Diamond Coating®, an exceptionally engineered coating of electroless nickel with fine diamond. The synergy of these materials makes CDC an exceptionally hard and wear resistant coating. CDC conforms to even the most complex geometries and is an excellent replacement for chrome plating.
Ni-Grip™ Friction Shims
Surface Technology, Inc is the leading manufacturer of diamond coated friction shims in any shape or size, base metal, roughness level, in large or small quantities. Our Ni-Grip™ friction shims are used in applications ranging from aerospace and automotive to robotics and energy generation.
Contact STI for One-Plate® Electroless Nickel solutions, the simplest EN in the world. These One-Plate® systems use just one “Q” solution for both bath make-up and replenishment. This innovation by STI overcomes the many shortcomings of using three A, B, and C solutions. Available in low, medium, high phosphorous, and composite EN varieties. Naturally, all are RoHS compliant.”
Commodities
To serve its customers’ full needs, Surface Technology, Inc. provides numerous key commodities used in electroless plating. The most common products being:
- Nickel sulfate crystals
- Nickel sulfate solutions
- Nickel chloride
- Nickel sulfamate
- Sodium hypophosphite
- DMAB
- Ammonium hydroxide
- Potassium carbonate
Availability of these commodities is especially advantageous to customers of STI’s Addplate® concentrates for electroless nickel systems. In these systems (available for all varieties of electroless nickel) the plating baths are made-up with only one proprietary component, "M", in addition to standard EN grade nickel sulfate and sodium hypophosphite commodities. Replenishment of the bath is made with only one proprietary component, "R" in addition to the same nickel sulfate and sodium hypophosphite stock solutions.
A bath made and maintained with Addplate® components is identical to a bath made and maintained with the corresponding NiPlate™ components. The benefits of the Addplate® approach include:
- Greatly reduced costs in use
- Substantially lower shipping costs
- Less inventories required
- Simple ratios of components for make up and replenishment
- Increased control of bath stability and brightness without affecting hypophosphite or nickel concentrations
- Ideal for distributors and export
