Creator of Composite Diamond Coating®

Surface Technology, Inc. is the creator and technical leader of CDC - Composite Diamond Coating®, an exceptionally engineered coating of electroless nickel with fine diamond. The synergy of these materials makes CDC an exceptionally hard and wear resistant coating. CDC conforms to even the most complex geometries and is an excellent replacement for chrome plating. STI makes CDC available via coating services from its production facility as well as chemical products sold directly, through a network of distributors, and by agreement with licensees worldwide.

Contact STI for One-Plate® Electroless Nickel solutions, the simplest EN in the world. These One-Plate® systems use just one “Q” solution for both bath make-up and replenishment. This innovation by STI overcomes the many shortcomings of using three A, B, and C solutions. Available in low, medium, high phosphorous, and composite EN varieties. Naturally, all are RoHS compliant.”

NiSlip™ 25

A COMPOSITE BORON NITRIDE, LOW PHOSPHOROUS, ELECTROLESS NICKEL PLATING PROCESS

The 25 system is a composite boron nitride, low phosphorous, electroless nickel process designed to deposit a uniform composite nickel-phosphorus alloy with ultra-fine, boron nitride particles onto a great variety of metals, alloys, and non-conductors.

The 25 system is available in two packaging options to best meet your needs. The NiSLIP option provides the greatest convenience to the user, while the ADDPLATE® option provides the greatest economy for shipping and use. Both options produce the same properties and quality.

  • The NiSLIP 25 option is supplied in four liquid concentrates: NiSLIP 25 A, 25 B, and 25 D are used for make-up, and NiSLIP 25 A, 25 C, and 25 D are used for replenishment.
  • The ADDPLATE® 25 option is supplied in three liquid concentrates: ADDPLATE® 25 M is used for bath make up with NiSLIP 25 D and standard nickel sulfate and sodium hypophosphite commodities, and ADDPLATE® 25 R is used for replenishment of the bath with NiSLIP 25 D and the same standard nickel sulfate and sodium hypophosphite commodities.

The NiSLIP 25 system has numerous advantages, especially compared to composite PTFE - electroless nickel systems such as:

  1. Deposits with low friction, self-lubricity, and release properties; as well as excellent wear resistance
  2. Higher hardness as plated and the ability to achieve maximum hardness through heat treatment
  3. High temperature resistance
  4. Corrosion resistance
  5. Faster plating rate
  6. Longer bath life
  7. Retention of particles for re-use from used baths
  8. Easier treatment of used baths

The 25 system electroless nickel processes meet or exceed MIL-C-26074D and AMS 2404C.
